“Royal Pineapple” Cushion

€39,00
A true emblem of 18th-century refined exoticism, the pineapple was considered the king's fruit under the Ancien Régime: rare, majestic, and difficult to cultivate, it graced the royal greenhouses and adorned state banquets. This cushion pays homage to this luxuriant imagery, in a pattern inspired by the botanical drawings favored by Marie-Antoinette for her Trianon gardens.

Butterflies, birds, and stylized foliage intertwine in a colonial-inspired symphony of plants, reminiscent of the so-called "Indian" printed canvases found on walls, dresses, and cabinets of curiosities. Deep blue and leafy green elegantly interact on an ivory background, creating an effect that is fresh, noble, and poetic.
